DONKEY RIDES

After a hearty breakfast we drove to Gibraltar Point. We visited the hides on the land side and saw lots of good birds. We then moved over to the sea side of the reserve and had a lovely walk along the beach to a sand spit that held a colony of sandwich terns. As we were coming to the end of our walk we spotted a turtle dove on the top of a hawthorn tree. I was very excited as I have not seen one for a couple of years!!!

We drove into Skegness to buy some fish and chips. The beach was really busy and the donkey rides were well subscribed.

In the evening the green keeper of the golf club on the hotel site took us around the course to show us how he is introducing conservation measures (we had met him earlier in the week and had shown an interest.)
