What a garden!

As I read through the leaflets for places to go in North Yorkshire, I discovered that there was a garden very close by which had been designed by Piet Oudolf in 1999. These were at Scampston Hall, in their old and very large walled garden. We were very inspired by what we found, such a variety of gardens. We enjoyed the perennial meadow and 'Drifts' garden best.
This photo shows the drifts garden, which is designed with swathes of Molinia grass, running through a close mown lawn.
