Smoke and mist

Normal service is resumed with today's blip, after the noticeably blue blips of the past three days. It wasn't actually raining when I took this - the torrents didn't get going till I'd returned to the car - but the mist and the smoke from a fire in the forest swirled dramatically around the hills of Glen Massan as we walked along the old road after a hike above Puck's Glen.

As I took this photo, the most wonderful perfume from some hidden plant wafted around us. We don't know what it was, though the rain and the damp had clearly released the full scent. We went on our way chanting Gray's Elegy ...

"Many a flow'r is born to blush unseen and waste its sweetness on the desert air" ... except that this sweetness wasn't wasted. We were there.
