What a start to the football season!

Today AFC Fylde played their first game in the highest league they have ever played in - the football conference north.

Our opponents, Brackley Town, had a dreadful journey up from Oxfordshire. Accidents and the volume of traffic meant they didn't arrive until 3.20.

Although this wasn't the ideal preparation for them I am certain they will not use it as an excuse for what happened when the match did kick off.

Fylde were excellent in all areas today and ran out 4-0 winners.

It's been a very good day today but there is a lot more football to be played before the season concludes.
