Oh what a beautiful morning

The early morning was beautiful. Warm sun and flat seas. I knew that the forecast was nt looking very promising for the afternoon so luckily I spotted this sailing vessel coming down the Firth on Marine traffic. It is called Leader and was one of the largest of the Brixham sailing trawlers. She is the largest and oldest of the four Trinity Boats being over 105 feet long including the bowsprit. Built in 1892 at Glampton on one of my favourite Rivers the River Dart. She was used for fishing in the Uk until 1907. She spent the following years in Sweden than on the West coast of Scotland as a holiday boat before returning to Dartmouth, Devon and eventually became part of the Trinity fleet. She has undergone complete refurbishment and this was seen on 'How Britain works ' on Channel 4.
I was born in a Trinity Road so must look in to why it was called that !

I was pleased to see she had some sails up and she's made her way slowly to the Muirtown basin where she sits at the moment.

It has poured this afternoon and we're waiting for the winds to arrive !
