Stormy Skies
Stormy skies covered us today as the tail end of Hurricane Bertha hit us. It has nt been as bad as other areas but it has been blowy and wet. We did get some sunny spells and I ventured out to take photos of the sky which looked very dramatic as the black clouds seemed to cover Inverness.
Lots of rivers are in spate, especially near Elgin and Ullapool. The Firth has been choppy but not as bad as I have seen it. There were extra high tides as well because of the Super moon and I could see seaweed floating on the surface after being up rooted from the seabed.
The birds have been down to the feeders including a young goldfinch that managed to hang on as the feeder swayed too and fro. The swallows are almost ready to fledge. All have tail and wing feathers and have been taking it in turns to get to the edge of the nest for a stretch. They can no longer fit in next to each other long ways so have to line up sideways. Everytime I go down to get a photo they stop moving though but we can see them on the remote camera.
Hope you have all survived the bad weather.
