at home with an Ivysaurus

'Told you you were tired Ivy'

Today Euan and I reached a point with Ivy not going down easily for naps (she's lying down in her cot, but then getting bored of lying down and getting up to play before she's asleep) where we decided just to let her play to see if she'd eventually fall over and go to sleep. 5 minutes later, Euan came upstairs with her like this. I love when she goes to sleep on my shoulder- but I've never managed to get a good enough photo of it for blipping, so it's nice to have one of her like this, even if it is Euan she's asleep on...

She's now asking for food between meals, and snacking doesn't seem to cut it anymore- so 11vensies and 3'o'clocksies have been added to her diet. She ate a whole scrabled egg with cream at 11, and at 3 polished off a bannana. Euan made her some more of the squash thai curry she loved so much last time for dinner, with the addition of chicken and she ate so much of it she had no space for creamy pudding (something I have never seen Ivy do). Now when she's full, she shakes her head and says 'dum' (done) or 'nah' (no)

Laura and Tim came round in the afternoon, Ivy was pleased to have someone else to beg to read to her- but she kept insisting that the 'word' book got read over and over again (a board book, with a word and an image on each page- Ivy loves it so much because it has a cat she can shout 'cat' at and 'miaow' and a furry dog that she strokes and giggles)- by the twelth repeat of words, Laura was getting a bit bored, so we gave her 'My Brown can Moo- can you?' instead. Ivy did come to have it read to her, but brought Words with her hopefully- so Laura hid it behind the sofa. Ivy copies alot of the sounds in Mr Brown- I think her whispering is particullarly cute. Ivy likes Tim and Laura alot. (I love how small she used to be compared to how big she is now)

When Ivy was in bed, we played Catan and two of Laura and Tim's friends came by. It was a good evening.

I laughed for several hours last night at this photo- it's worth a look.

Also if you're in a link clicking mood- a really cool guy I met at Uni is trying to spread through social media his new track. I think it's rather good. Listen here.
