Knowledge...Beyond Our Grasp!

Day off yesterday! A relatively early (for a day off) start saw what looked like a lovely day, so a beautiful woman whisked me off to Paju which is very close to the DMZ. Paju's two main claims to fame are the Heyri Artist's Village, where a variety of artists and museum curators have banded together to display and sell their wares, and the Publishing Village where just about all the literature in Korea is published.

The artist's village was lovely, but the visit was marred by the effects of a Typhoon passing near Japan causing the heavens to open after about an hour. That said we had a pleasant visit to the World Musical Instrument Museum where I got to hit a drum for the first time since getting to Korea, and a delicious lunch in a Turkish Cafe. Afterwards we went to a massive library near the Publishing Museum, but we arrived a little late and so most of the building was closed. A little annoying, but it was still good to visit. We vowed to go another time to both venues on a day when the weather was better and we could get out of bed earlier. In the evening we had a delicious Korean-style meal of tofu stew and steak, then watched a couple of films. Perfect day off!
