Change of weather

Since before I got up this morning, it has been torrential rain. It is incredible. It's like the middle of winter! Our village river, which is normally a steady tickle at this time of year, is a raging torrent. It is nearly flowing over one of the small bridges and the water is still rising. Where is it all coming from?
