Noon day
Taking a morning walk around Culion village Lina and I found ourselves sweating in the noon day glare.
A young boy cajoled us over to a halo-halo stand for something cool. Halo-halo is a Philippino invention. Shaved ice, syrups, jellies, beans, nuts, and more. Though it sounds a bit odd it is delicious. Always a hit on hot days, especially with the kids.
We enjoyed a couple ourselves sitting in the shade chatting with a friendly mom and her kids. Soon a small crowd of youngsters had gathered round. They taught us how to spin tops as we whiled away the heat of the afternoon with tall cups of halo-halo.
