The Back Garden

Morning spent by the pool, although at times I think it was warmer in the pool than on the side!

After lunch I took them out for what was meant to be a little exploratory ride. William in the bike seat, Carys setting the pace at the front.

We arrived home 17miles later! No I didn't get lost, very hard to do that when following French cycle routes as they are impressively marked out, but Carys just kept going and by the time I thought we should turn around we were closer to home if we kept going! The big difference to last year is that she didn't stop once. Last year we had to stop every couple of miles for a drink, not this year. She was too busy talking about what was growing in the fields and learning her times tables to think about drinking.

William said when we got home that he wasn't tired! No surprise there then, but he did learn his left and right while we were out and was chief navigator for the whole ride.
