Weekend Wednesday!

I do love a weekend Wednesday!

Had to take Mr M's car in for a service this morning which had the distinct advantage of getting us both up and out of the house at a reasonably sensible time. Having dropped in the car, we then called in at one of our favourite local gardens. It's quite a small place but beautifully landscaped and a bit of a hidden gem. A great place to go to relax for an hour or two and have lunch.

That said, we were a bit early for lunch, so went for a walk round first. As we wandered around the garden, we were befriended by a little dog (a spaniel, I think) which we assumed must have belonged to someone who lived at the garden. The dog took quite a shine to us and walked alongside us as we went around the garden... quite endearing.. until the little chap made a slight detour from our heels to drop a large steaming pile on the ornamental lawn before trotting back to us. We were mortified!!

Anyway, managed to shake the dog off eventually and had a lovely lunch and a big pot of tea. After lunch, Mr M took his book and stretched out on the grass down by the lake while I went for a wander looking for things to take photos of.

Today's blip is one of the things I found.

Home now, and about to go and make some scones. We have some clotted cream in the fridge so a batch of home-made scones seemed like just the thing to help use it up!

Shame there's only one Wednesday in a week!
