I personally really enjoyed our game against Wales and thought we played well against an awesome team. Jersey was difficult and hard work (I was awarded the trucker award) and Italy was a disappointing result (though I felt I played well and got my first international touch down! getting the team MVP award in the process) Despite the scores not going our way, I still really enjoyed the first day of Euros 2014.

Clarkys' reflections:

Day 2: After a restless nights sleep (some due to nerves, others due to loud foreign sounding people loving life a bit too much outside ) we were up at the sparrows fart to get some breakfast in ahead of the Wales game at 9am! For such an early start everyone was buzzing, even the non morning people *cough*justeen*cough* then when the warm up came the game faces were on and you could feel everyone was in the zone...game one Vs Wales....we were on fire, the team looked awesome, the moves were working and the team was working as a team. The score didn't go our way or reflect our impressive work rate but it was great to watch and everyone should be proud of their performance.

Game two...Vs Jersey....well well well we got to meet our friends from across the wet bit and teach them a lesson in touch or two.....or so we hoped.....unfortunately this did not go to plan and they simply outgunned our team, we did however settle down in the second half and started to play some good touch but as much as it pains me to say, Jersey played well and deserved the result (I shall now wash my mouth out!!).

Game three.....Vs Italy....the home of Ferrari, Ducati, motorcycling legends Giacomo Agostini and Valentino Rossi, Venice, Rome, so much culture and history and....they give us a white cap at the start of the game!!! I can only assume this is to say thanks for turning up! We in return gave them a block of Guernsey fudge which we hoped they would eat right away and struggle to move (which they did not!!). Anyways I massively digress, the game starts well for us, we are all over them and boooom two TD's in quick succession and we are looking strong, then they clawed another couple back and we started to get a bit excitable (not really in a good way) and made a few silly mistakes which allowed them to take the lead and stay there right until the end! Look out Italy we are coming for you tomorrow again and this time you can keep your white cap!!!!

Tomorrow is a new day, a clean score sheet and an opportunity to win!
