It seems the darkness that is Depression has claimed another talented life. I'm not in any position to comment about the man or his life, but I have enjoyed his performances on screen and my life has been greatly enriched by this, so I have only gratitude and appreciation for the creativity he brought into the world.
Amongst my favourite films are "Dead Poets Society" and "What Dreams May Come". But then I also enjoyed "Hook" and most of his other film portrayals. I have a sense that there is an echo from "What Dreams May Come" in Robin Williams life, and its' ending. Celebrity, fame and fortune do not in themselves bring happiness or security from the cold chill of a tormented soul. Perhaps the love that so many have expressed for him will bring some comfort in his onward journey.
During Meditation this morning I was reminded of Cat Stevens song "Sitting" [which in my interpretation is about Meditation] and the lyric " .... and I don't need to use my eyes to see" floated in, rather appropriately as I was using my inner vision to "see".
My copy of "Spiritus" magazine [Spiritual Healers magazine] arrived on the doormat today too, a reminder of the "other" side of life, together with an email invitation to a talk entitled "The Dream Of The Cosmos". It seems the "Dreams" thread is reasserting itself again.
A brief trip to the office in Magor gave me the opportunity to grab a photo for the day.
Watched "The Book Thief" this evening with K, beautiful portrayal of a riveting book. The quote that "Memory is the scribe of the Soul" seemed to reach out to me across the ages [attributed to Aristotle]. Roger Allam superbly cast as the voice of Death...
