It's a girl!!!
Every time I think about it, it immediately brings a smile to my face. I'm having a baby girl! I wanted a girl so badly and I knew I was going to be a little disappointed if it was a boy, though I'm sure I would have eventually been so happy for a little man too. The whole story is kind of awesome so I'll start from the beginning.
I woke up in the morning with a clear vision of how I wanted to reveal the gender. I had been promising the friends and family that I would tell them the day I found out, though I knew I had to think of something cute. I scoured Pinterest and wasn't impressed with anything, so I was stoked the vision came to me over night. I woke up and knew I wanted to involve everyone. So I sent out a 7:30 am text to everyone that said I wanted a selfie of them wearing a shirt that was either pink or blue, and that it was due at 9 pm because that was when I was going to send out the reveal. It was so fun to get selfies of my friends all day long, and it was even more surprising that the final vote was girl 3:1! It was a landslide, and it was a correct landslide.
The ultrasound was at 3:30 so jimmy would be able to make it after work. We got called back right on time and met our very sweet ultrasound tech. We told her we were super excited to find out and I laid down on the table, brimming with excitement. Well she started at the head, measuring the brain and stuff. After about 10 minutes I couldn't handle it anymore, my heart started pounding and I started shaking a little. Jimmy asked if I was ok and I kind of shyly replied that I was just so nervous. She took that as a hint and skipped down to the goods! I was so grateful because I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest. It's a girl she said! I started nervous/happy laughter. I couldn't believe I had actually gotten what I wanted so badly. During the rest of the ultrasound she showed us lots of awesome shots of the little lady, but she was very comfortable laying right on my cervix that we couldn't get all the views we needed. She assured us everything looks great from what she can see, but she is going to schedule us to come back and see more shots in a few weeks. Hey, any chance to see that sweet little face again is ok with me!
I'll complete the story in tomorrow's post...
