Fuelling up
The station at Oswestry on the Cambrian Railways closed in 1965 as part of the Beeching Cuts. A group of volunteers have been working for years to re-open a length of track and eventually hope to link it to the main line at Gobowen. The organisation called Cambrian Heritage Railways have hired a steam engine for two weekends and this morning I was present when the first steam hauled passenger train left Oswestry station since 1965.
I took lots of shots of the train but couldn't resist blipping these volunteers eating burgers from the station buffet (which has been made to look like the inside of a steam train) before the first train left.
