In the Mouse House

Not only did I forget my camera battery needed charging, I'd also forgotten to charge my phone. And typically I had a great day with many missed blip opportunities.

Like mother, like daughter - #3 daughter had to go on a speed awareness course today so as her husband was at work we had the children. We decided to have the morning at the Hancock, which is a free museum. Ella walked all the way - to the metro, then to the Hancock, her favourite museum. (I was pleased - the only shop window on the way that she showed any interest in was the book shop, but we didn't have time for a visit as we were meeting #2 daughter and Thomas.). In the museum, Ella had fun exploring the mouse house and making friends with everybody there. Here she is running from a mouse hole. Baby brother was happy to roll around the floor. We then all had a picnic outside on the grass, before going back in to see the dinosaurs. She spent a lot of time in the Egyptian area, braving the hellfire and plague of writhing snakes projected on the floor, depicting the journey to the afterlife. Thomas was more interested in the stuffed animals and birds. Grandad got a rest as he was minding Nathaniel who was napping in his pushchair. On the way back, Ella loved going down on the escalator to the metro - usually she has to go in the lift with the pushchair, but this time we left Grandad to take the baby down on his own. She laughed all the way down. It is such fun to see the joy of new experiences.
