Two of a kind
Today we travelled north to Bodysgallen Hall, a stately home now owned by the National Trust and run as a hotel and spa. We had coffee here and a guided tour by the Head Gardener.
This was followed by Plas Newydd, a mansion owned by the NT, sitting beside the Menai Strait and with wonderful trees and sun-drenched Italianate terraces, filled with 'hot' plants.
The final visit of the day was to Treborth Botanic Garden, in Bangor, just on the mainland side of the bridge. Just a small botanic garden, but with an amazing curator who entertained and educated us for an hour an a half and gave us tea and biscuits!
In spite of this wealth of horticultural excellence, I've chosen a completely different picture. While down at the little harbour at Plas Newydd, I spotted a young mother with a double buggy full of twins, covered against the rain by transparent shields. I asked if I could take a picture and she happily agreed. I further asked if I could take off the covers, to which she also agreed! She here's my Blip of the day - a pair of twins, boy and girl!
