at home with an Ivysaurus

A pirates life for me!

A tall ship is docked in Ullapool just now- we took Ivy down for storytelling, but it turned out to be tales from the high seas for aduults- and not the puppet, pirate based extavegance I was hoping for- so Ivy joined the other young children we know from Ullapool in runing (crawling in Ivy's case) up and down the decks. I love the gaint jumper she'd wearing. It's a frugi snuggle fleece- she had one in 6-12 month size, that's pretty big on her currently, and this is 12-18 the plan being to put it away for her to grow into- but we put it on and both Euan and I are pretty enchanted with the oversized look and how cute it makes her look. I think she'll have snuggle fleeces every winter until she grows out of the biggest size they make. The more i'm making clothes for Ivy, the less I think we'll buy for her- but I'll make an exception for these.

In the afternoon, Ivy skyped Granny Grant and Pops and showed her amazing bannana eating skills, she kept popping down to take a bite and then standing up to chew and look at the screen. Was using the big computer, which mean unfortunatly that when ivy was chilling out and grinning at the screen, she was off camera due to the high angle of the built in webcam.

We had fritto misto for tea. Ivy inhaled scallops- she had one bite of one, before shouting 'yes' and reaching for more. I wish i'd had a camera for the moment where Ivy had a piece of calamari hanging out of her mouth, whilst carefully pilling scallops from the table onto her plate.

She's getting very enthusiastic about food- she licked the plate clean after lunch. I remembered to give her all her normal feeds today.

A much better night last night, despite not going to bed until nearly 9 (she hung out very quietly in teh ring sling with Euan till then), she only woke up once before 5.30am and that was when I heard her spluttering (I think she'd burped up some milk) and rushed through to rescue her from chocking and hauled her out of bed. She was fine- Euan (who was rudely awoken by me running over the top of him shouting 'IVY'S NOT OKAY!!!) and I were probably more upset than she was.
