at home with an Ivysaurus

what's up doc?

Pulled our first carrot out the ground today. It was unexpectedly white... I planted a rainbow mix. I think next year i'll plant bog standard orange ones that grow quicker- same with basil, purple basil has been mightily pathetic so next year we're going green.

Another unsettled night with Ivy- she spent the night with me again whilst Euan slept downstairs, a few more nights like this and i'll be putting her in a parcel and arranging for my hermes to come get her and deliver her to granny grant...

Spent the afternoon unrolling soggy sheep fleeces and hanging them on a fence as part of a community drive to fix the damage the storm caused to leckmelm farm. Wet sheep fleeces smell and are ridiculously oily. Did get cake after though.

Euan tried our first homegrown chilli today- it was an underipe numex twilight- that when ripe rates about a scotch bonnet on the scoville scale. Ivy doing impressions of him sticking his tongue out to cool, was only topped in cuteness by her blowing on her yoghurt spoon to cool it down a few seconds later.

She and I both forgot to breastfeed today- she went 9 to 3 without a feed- but was pretty thrilled when she got one.

Bedtime already not going well today, Euan has just taken Ivy downstairs to play as she wasn't putting her head down. It'll be interesting to see what Ivy's routine settles into when Euan goes back to school and it's just me and her in the house.
