Leufstabruk
Leufstabruk (or Lövstabruk) is an old Swedish ironworks from the 16th century. By the 18th century it had become the largest ironworks in Sweden and was still active until 1926 when it closed down. The manor and land surrounding the old works have been owned by the De Geer family for 13 generations but have now been transformed into a foundation and are open to the public.
Most of the workers' cottages have become homes and there are many artists and craftsmen active in the small community. It's a lovely place to visit and we spent the whole afternoon wandering around the grounds, looking at arts & craftsmen exhibitions and making a few purchases of course!
