Where Are The Calves?

I drove by these girls on my way home from work and their little calfs (?calves) were by their side in the afternoon light, lolling about. I came back 20 minutes later and they were gone. The people who own this little spread (and it is little) only have about 5 cows and I suspect they are raising them for meat. Makes me sad, but I must admit I am a beef eater occasionally. Better in LARGE.
