Saumur and Parthenay

Spectacular views of the Loire from the Chateaux at Saumur and a lovely wander through a deserted Parthenay, wonderful place!
Stayed at an old chateaux at Airvault, another memorable dinner and even more memorable breakfast as the Chateaux owner hosted breakfast at a long banqueting table and I shared the strange french vocabulary I have from doing french A level 32 years ago and having to read Madame Bovary, Le Grand Meaulnes, Maupassant and Sartre- not sure he was impressed I knew french for " a pile of dung" !
