Vikings!

Mum, Michael and I had an evening out in Stornoway today. Firstly a lovely early dinner at the Boathouse restaurant (I had black pudding and haggis for starters, pork for main and creme brûlée for pudding). Then we went off to the tattoo on the castle green. It was entertaining but we managed to get a fairly good spot, others weren't so lucky - they really need to be providing proper tiered seating for a four hour performance surrounding a green like this - I know a lot of people left early because they couldn't see or hear anything. It certainly felt a long four plus hours standing the whole time. The Jarl Squad visiting from Shetland was a highlight, especially for the kids in the crowd who loved them!
