Extreme emergency blip
I was off to work at 7 am and not home again until after 9:00 pm. My oldest son, who lives in Florida, is in town on business so I met him after work for dinner. We had a very lovely visit. He will be coming back to DC every few weeks for the next 12 to 18 months, so we are delighted.
I arrived a few minutes early so I went desperately searching for a blip. I took about a dozen photos very quickly, but this one was the only photo that was blip worthy....maybe.
It is a metal sculpture outside a popular restaurant and I have seen it many times, without taking much notice. After I got home and decided on this blip, I googled it, of course! Sure enough, I found some information. What did we ever do before GOOGLE?
The name of the sculpture is Epoch. "It is a 25-feet tall, bright multi-colored metal sculpture of unusual shapes in Washington, DC. located in a small outdoor plaza at the NE corner of G Street NW and 9th Street NW."
Apparently if you search closely, there is a poem somewhere in the sculpture. I will look for it the next time I am there. The link to the poem and information about the sculpture are here. I am too tired tonight to ponder the meaning of that poem. That is for another day.
