Calton Road
Has all the hallmarks of a classic mid sized Cigs; double underline, halo above the 'i', 3 splashes in the I dot for good measure, and even a curly tail on the end of the 's'.
White paint on grimy stone; it's been here a while; I've seen it blipped (apologies to the person who did it but I can't remember your name -sorry!)
It's one I pass on the way to the office and lots more besides; as a cyclist its the breathing after the lung busting surge up Broughton Street; around the roundabout at the Omni centre and the sprint up Leith Street; if the lights go in your favour by the time you get to this point, it's 25mph, high gear, wind in the face and shaping to take the left hander at the apex whilst ensuring no one is trying to overtake you as you do it.
But yesterday after a quick look at Katie Paterson at the Ingleby Gallery (I was unimpressed, largely; but post migraine, my head was nowhere near fully engaged), the sun was perfect to catch the windows and create shadows, so it got blipped.
