Beauty is all around us.

A tribute to Alfred Wainwright in Kendal.

The day we visited Kendal was mixed weather .
There is a big Argo there and many fascinating shops.
The town has a unique identity that is Nothern and there is a wide high street.
We enjoyed browsing in a good Oxfam bookshop.
The lunch at Farrers opposite Burtons was enjoyed by all three of us, Paul, Maria and me.
The character of history and the variety of teas and coffee in their original containers looked memorably arranged.
I blipped these footprints to focus on Slfred Wainwright, who was born in Blackburn, worked a while in Kendal and is well known for his indusrious mapping of the paths he walked in The Lake District.
There was more to learn about this area than I had time to discover but found it interesting and the landscape rugged and dangerous whilst being full of great beauty.
