A Spire to Climb!

Necessary repairs to the steeple of our 1878 church have meant it is now clad in scaffolding and can be seen dominating the town skyline from miles around.

In a moment of weakness I mentioned to our property convener that I would love to get photographs from the top - he has arranged it for next Monday!!!

Along with our dynamic South African minister I will be clad in all the safety gear (I have given my measurements , weight etc) and weather permitting will attempt to climb the 150 ft spire via a network of ladders and platforms, squeeze through hatches and if I make it I may even get a blip! ( If I can hold the camera steady.)
