Patiently Waiting

Connie the guide dog patiently waiting for her owner as she rehearses. Such a good dog.

This was a rehearsal for a world premiere performance on Sunday. The work, 'Vom Judischen Schicksal' (the Jewish Fate), was written by Richard Fuchs during WWII, and while it won a major Jewish competition, it was banned by the Nazis before it could ever be performed. This weekend the NZ School of Music is hosting a conference, 'Recovering Forbidden Voices', which is dedicated to recovering a number of works written during WWII, all banned by the Nazis as 'degenerate music'.
