Conumdrum

A plaque in the road on Buckingham Terrace.

Who are they? Did they live here? What did they donate? Just the plaque? Or something else?

I searched Google, but I couldn't find any info about why this plaque is here.

I did find an Alan Jowett, author of books about trains and railways. A Kathy Jowett works as an architect in Edinburgh. I presume Spot the Dog has nothing to do with the children's book, unless Eric Hill was also involved. A pet?
