Skipton

Bolton abbey in the morning... another impressive abbey ruin complete with an old cemetery and a stepping stone path across the river. Had tea and a croque monsieur at the Café before heading to Skipton. More assorted markets and quaint shops. Visited Skipton castle, which ended up becoming one of my favorite castle ruins, being still largely in tact but empty enough for the imagination and plenty to explore. Orchestrated a plan to hop the gate into a restricted area that led down a staircase into a huge, largely unexcavated chamber. Easy to sneak in, but difficult getting out due to high volume of curious tourists peering through the gate into the darkness. After the castle, went to the underwhelming Bizzie Lizzie's before returning to Harrogate. Pre-race pasta dinner for Jacob.
