The Peak District

Accompanied Jacob to his race, the 33 1/2 mile "Long Tour of Bradwell." Day consisted of trying to meet him at several checkpoints, but also afforded us a chance to see the gorgeous peak district - some of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen, comprised of rolling mountains carpeted with ferns and heather. Spent our time waiting for Jake admiring the views and chasing sheep. Attempted to eat lunch at a pub near the finish line, but found the menu to be pricey and questionable, so settled for tea and chips. Drove home after the race and after a lengthy and heated debate over dinner plans, finally decided to walk to the Black Swan pub for dinner. Unfortunately, it was closed for the evening and we were forced to settle for sub-par delivery pizza.
