In the Pink
It's been a long day, but very enjoyable. I got an early train to Edinburgh where my oldest friend met me. (We met in Primary School 60 years ago and have been close ever since). We had coffee in a swanky hotel - the women's room is blipped. We then walked along George street, looking in a few shops as we went, before attending our first lecture of the day, about Homer. (The Greek one, not Simpson). It was a witty talk with lots to think about. We had a nice lunch before our next talk by a Columbian lawyer, about the Pinochet coup in Chile - again very entertaining, and relevant. Tonight we saw James III which was excellent. My friend had seen all three James plays and thought this was the best. The Danish actress (from The Killing) was outstanding. We arrived at my friend's house in Fife at 11.30 pm, absolutely shattered, which accounts for the inarticulate journal.
