Burr Overload

Headed off to Newcastle for a couple of nights.

Every piece of furniture in the hotel room was artificial burr .......... talk about overload.

Our reason for the trip was to go to a concert in the Sage on the banks of the Tyne (on the left of the shot).
However, we came down a day early so that SWMBO could see the Millenium Bridge - known locally as the Winking Eye - open to allow ships through.

It is a beautiful piece of engineering ..... more a sculpture really which has coloured lights which play across it.

When talking to the men opperating I told them that we had come down specially to see it opening they promised that on the next opening they would lock the colour on purple which is SWMBO favourite colour............shame we will be in the concert and will not see if they kept their promise.
