Shapely Berlin

We went on a river trip up (down?) the Spree and round the Landwehr Kanal, all of which took 3 and a half hours. We saw lots of interesting buildings modern and old all of which could have contributed to the August shapes and shadows Saturday challenge. This was actually the last photo I took.

This building is part of the Reichstag complex but is on the opposite side of the river to the main building with the iconic dome. They are linked by a beautiful fragile looking footbridge and of course the side photographed would have been In East Germany. Swimming the river here was apparently an attempted escape route from East to West.

I like the big open circular window, the reflections, the bikes and the people all of which seem to speak to me of the City Berlin now is.
