Music Through Flowers

An exhibition of eighty floral displays to celebrate the eightieth anniversary of the death of the composer Gustav Holst is being held in Thaxted Church this weekend.

The displays are beautiful and it was hard to choose which one to blip. I have picked this one for its simplicity.

I spent two hours this afternoon doing steward duties, as they were short of volunteers. My responsibilities were “crowd control / directing the viewers”. It’s amazing the questions one get asked!! The reformation and its relation to the stained glass windows, what kind of paint do they put on the walls…….etc…etc… all of which I couldn’t answer, but directed the visitor to someone else.

The purpose of the exhibition is to raise funds for the church heating fund.
