My favourite!
Quite a happy day. I slept for the first part of the day and then we went to the beach for a walk. That is one of my absolute favourite activities! I had a lovely chat with Henry as we waded through the shallow water.
One thing I noted today was how much I seemed to want to remind people of the times I have fainted and when I got hypothermia. Almost like it makes me special to have had more of these experiences than the rest of them. Of course it doesn't and I could do with remembering that. Much like my worries about my weight, I need to park the thoughts and recall my identity in Christ.
I just was reading Psalm 20. It was the encouragement given to the leaders at the beginning of camp as we entered the spiritual battle of trying to save the members. Apparently the psalm is written as they were going into battle. I particularly like verses 7&8: Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.
It makes me think of the stressful conversation I had with the man on the plane yesterday when he was ridiculing my beliefs and trying to convert me (but not really stopping to listen to any response from me). I see he even tweeted about our conversation...'funny thing. On a short haul flight I was talking to a graduate of mathematics who still believes in the bible version of Jesus. Shocking.' But anyway, the psalm says to me that I am victorious with Jesus. Hooray!
