Truly batty

The expression 'batty' comes I believe from the expression 'bats in the belfry' - which my online dictionary defines as `'to be silly and slightly crazy and behave in a confused way" (Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary). In our world it is an epithet applied to this cat, whom we call the Baticat, on account of his demented wailing and unpredictable behaviour.
