oh deer

I was sitting in the garden with the camera next to me when I noticed the pattern on the deer skull. Amazing markings and little mosses have started to grow on it too. I spotted it a few years back when I was at the tip and thought it was interesting and the man let us take it for free. It's complete with both antlers and sits in the garden among the pots at the moment.
I was watching an interesting programme about Vikings and their connection with the British Isles. The presenter was at an interesting exhibition in The National Museum in Edinburgh which was there last year where many Viking artefacts were displayed including early writing which reminded me of the markings on the skull .

The lighting on the Firth was beautiful tonight. The water was calm and rain could be seen falling from the clouds on the other side. The sun was picking out the buildings and the buoys and a rainbow was reflected in the water but I could nt get the camera to do it justice.
