Worth it

Today Peach & I celebrate 11 years of marriage.

We've been together as a couple for over 18 years. Peach has now been more a part of my life than who I was before we met.

11 years in and I still remember our Wedding day and all the preparations the lead up to it. I remember the folder I kept with me that had dividers for every aspect of the wedding. There was an expenses sheet at the front detailing every penny spent and then sections behind in order of the sheet with information and receipts tallying to "The Wedding Expenses Sheet". I remember trying to talk through my ideas, hopes and plans for the day with Peach. He was happy for me to make most of the plans. He was responsible for his attire and the grooms-men's. I also remember his comment whilst looking out over our wedding party, people laughing, people smiling and raising a glass to us. Leading up to the wedding, money was tight, and Peach could see all that we were spending on our wedding and kept reminding me of the fancy cars he could have bought with the money we had spent. Then in the midst of our celebrations Peach told me that "it was all worth it, every penny spent was worth it for the fabulous day we had had"

That's where we are at today, it's all worth it. Every little bit of happiness, laughter, anxiety, despair, forgiveness, romance, tension..... all of it, it's worth it!

To be with the one who knows all of my secrets, to love me no matter what I do or don't do and to be by my side as we travel through life - it's all worth it.

Yes, 11 years ago today I wasn't planning to spend our eleventh anniversary ironing, making beds and clearing up after little ones; but then I had no idea what was ahead of us. We've taken each and every day as it comes. We've laughed, we've loved, we've shouted and we've cried - and we did it together.
