Ice clouds

Feeling somewhat recovered from last night's revelry (after another hearty breakfast!) we headed off for a walk, over the ridge down the shore of Derwentwater. Very beautiful and tranquil at 10 am, but it meant we were too early to go for a boat trip round the lake. And anyway, the hordes were assembling - as we walked back by a different lane we encountered crowds of ramblers and found that we had entered MAMIL country.

At lunchtime Sue had arranged a sale - books, crafts, etc, with all proceeds going to VSO and COAT. We had taken a huge box of books down with us after a clear-out of our bookselves a couple of months back (strangely, no more space appears to have been freed up on them). We managed to escape only having bought two books ourselves. It was lovely to meet up with an old pal who came down for the afternoon (due to her involvement with COAT) and to have a catch up. There was a slap-up tea, of course. After that we said our goodbyes and headed home.

We saw these high clouds when we were on our morning walk. The view is westwards - not sure of which fells these are exactly, but the one with the lump on might be Crag Pike.
