my family has decided that all i photograph is abstract lines. in honor of them, this morning i awoke with the promise to take something other than my usual two colors/materials/textures with a horizontal break, shot in a vertical format. today i was going to take a landscape.

i went to the beach and took this photo just before sunrise. it is as close to a landscape as i could muster. still, i see many characteristics of my typical work. i struggle as to whether to pursue my inherent design instincts or to push to broaden my photographic styles. perhaps in the end they are one and the same. something to contemplate.
