the scratch of a knife

today was a crazy day having just returned from vacation. somehow i ended up with this shot of the inside of our dishwasher. the color is from the interaction between the iron in our water and the stainless steel interior. the scratches are made by utensils that fall through the cracks during the wash cycle. most days all i see is a stained and scratched appliance. today i saw the beauty that comes with wear.
