Rose Cottage

I have always associated the name Rose Cottage with an old thatched cottage with roses climbing up the door and an elderly white haired old lady in a country style garden. So I was really surprised to see the name Rose Cottage outside this croft.

The house had a beauty of its own, but it was a stark functional beauty not a comfortable, cosy beauty that I felt the name implied. Perhaps originally the house was very different.

The dogs didn't notice or care. They enjoyed the walk as they always do.
