Doncaster Premier Yearling Sales

This bay colt waits to go into the sale ring. Like most of the
others, it has been consigned by studs in Ireland. There
were 250 to be sold on the first day of the sale. The hundreds
of cars in the car park and prices achieved in the morning
- mostly well over £25,000 and some over £100,000 - for
horses which will not have their first race for another nine
months is testament to the good health of the racing industry.
It is also testament to the willingness of many people to
find a return on their money in terms of happiness is preferable
than the meagre return available from their Building Society.
In that sense they are all winners. If their horse wins - even
better - the winnings are tax free !
