We Hate the Different
Let's be honest, we've all walked down a city sidewalk and seen what most people refer to as freaks. These people either have body modifications, dress in dark clothing, or just simply look different than everyone else. In my opinion, I believe that being different is the new normal.
People these days have brains like sponges (especially children and teenagers). Instead of being "real", were all caught up on whether or not we have the latest iphone, or the latest fashion fad and forget what it's like to be an individual.
Personally, from a young age, I found people like Marilyn Manson to be role models in a sense that they're not afraid to stand out and preach to the youth that it's okay to be different, and to question what they were taught. Were taught to rely on higher power (not only religion but also from a political and educational stand point) and I believe that we should think on our own, and be open minded toward new ideas.
Practice what you preach, kids.
