Into the Night

Back into London for work today for me (Chris) whilst Annie began a couple of days of work in Edinburgh after our lovely weekend together there.

A real dash home this evening to get to our penultimate camera club summer season event. We had arranged an outdoor shoot at Whiteleaf Cross with a couple of models and lots of flash guns and a few modifiers.

Thankfully the weather held off to give a good couple of hours shooting before the light really went. It was a great evening, shooting in manual and learning the impact of changing all the variables (aperture, ISO and shutter speed) as well as moving the flashes around. As I've only ever done this type of thing indoors, it really was a journey of discovery, especially thinking about the settings and making the best backdrop from the sceanery. Helps to have tolerant models too although we probably should have bought some flasks with us!
