Leaves
I took the opportunity to go outside at lunchtime as my training was in Eastwood Park, there was time to spare so I took a walk through the woods where I gave my first group of children weekly woodland adventures eight years ago. Little had changed except a few blown down trees and overgrown undergrowth blocking some paths. I didn't have the footwear for it but that made it feel even more adventurous. I was surprised how green most of the leaves still were with just the tops of the horse chestnuts beginning to change colour, I had never noticed before that they were first to go. I love looking up through a sun dappled canopy if leaves and it has made me long to go to finlaystone in a week or two yo walk through the woods that used to be my home. I can't possibly go without Carlos and the kids so will need to schedule it in.
I got home early after training so I made cookies, warped my loom and cooked dinner before heading out for a spot of knitting and chat with my good friends. I've got a loan of a two treadle spinning wheel so can't wait to try it out, I think Santa might need to bring one so I deteriorate both my legs equally instead of just the one that suffers with my current single treadle wheel.
