Steeplegate, Ely
One of the gateway arches giving access to the cathedral environs from the high street. The other one looks more like the traditional gateway - and has a gate, which is closed at sunset. the high street is a real mixture of old and new but most of the buildings on the cathedral side retain their old structure. Steeplegate, as well as the ground floor (which is a tea room) and the two above the arch, also has a vaulted cellar which is at present used as an art gallery. Lovely little city, Ely!
