Reflections On Salt Lake City.
Here is the famous Temple of Salt Lake City, well at least it is a reflection of it! We spent a pleasant morning exploring the Temple Square area before heading north.
I had tried to put an illuminated picture of it on yesterday but I have to confess it looks a bit Walt Disney all lit up!
(I discovered the reason why it wouldn't publish yesterday saying the picture was taken in the future!?! as when setting my world clock I had somehow set it to Bangkok's time zone- weird as that is probably the last place it was set to a different time zone, maybe I just forgot to do it! yesterday you got my original blip that wouldn't upload at Chicago airport!) Here's hoping the rest of the holiday isn't upside down.!
It was quite a long drive this afternoon but most enjoyable. Passing through the ski area of northern Utah ( the venue for the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics ) into the agricultural south of Wyoming. Climbing through the hills we came to the alpine Star Valley with the Salt River leisure facilities and the distant back drop of the Teton mountain range. On then through the Snake River ravine and Teton National Forest. We read lots of notices about wildlife viewing but only saw two Mule Deer but did see what we thought were Beaver dams and lodges on the Salt River, hopefully we will see more in the coming days.
We are now in Jackson or Jackson Hole, staying for two nights. We have been out for dinner and it seems a delightful and busy little 'western' town. There has apparently been a rodeo tonight but we didn't see anything of it but will explore more in the morning before heading into the Grand Teton National Park.
(Thank you for your comments will respond when possible and try to find time to put some shots on Flickr. I find my link doesn't work for this on the iPad now since Flickr changed to Yahoo. Anyone else have this problem. I can do it on the laptop but haven't got that!)
